Hi Ladies,
I'm starting to prepare for our first meeting of the Life Makeover Group! I'm really excited about it and about all of us meeting each other and supporting one another in the coming year.

I want to reiterate the intent I had when starting this group: to create a tight-knit and diverse community of women who intend positive changes for their lives and who do the work of clearing out the stuff that holds them back. This group is more about action and support and less about following some guru or pontificating on the virtues of the Law of Attraction or being present (while I believe in both those things, it's not our job to try and convince anyone of anything).

My favorite bit of wisdom from Cheryl Richardson's coaching on "Extreme Self Care" is this: "Living a life of abundance has more to do with what you remove from your life than what you add to it."

With that said, let me be ironic and suggest that before our first meeting you add one book to your library: Life Makeovers: 52 Practical & Inspiring Ways to Improve Your Life One Week at a Time. It costs $10.36 on Amazon.com, and there's free shipping on orders of $25. You could add another book you've been meaning to treat yourself to, or I'd highly recommend Cheryl's "Self-Care Cards," which would take your order to $26. These cards are great! I've been using them every week--whenever I need some guidance or inspiration or am feeling low (or high), I'll take a deep breath and pull a random card and inevitably, it's just what I needed to be reminded of or what I needed to focus on for that moment. They're very lovely.

If you can't afford or aren't interested in buying her book, I can make some photocopies or scan in the pages of the first chapter so all of us can use it as a guide or starting point. I like the book because it's short and simple and offers very do-able weekly actions that really do help create a better me and a better life experience.

Okay--done with my sales pitch spiel! Get the book if you can. I'm sure the library or Schwartz's or other local booksellers would have it, too, though Amazon is 20% cheaper.

Secondly: our group currently has 25 members, though I'm not sure you all will be attending the first meeting. I can't host that many at my place in Wauwatosa, so I'm asking you to help me choose an alternate venue. I'm considering the upper level of Bluemound Gardens restaurant, though we'd have to buy drinks and appetizers and couldn't bring our own food. Does anyone live in a place that has a large social room we could rent or do you have an aesthetically pleasing place in mind where about 20 people could gather? It'd be better if we didn't have to pay, of course, and it would be nice if we could each bring something to nosh, nibble or sip on, too! I don't want to gather in a church basement or dingy space--we're bold, beautiful babes and deserve some place stunning!

Lastly, with a larger number of people in the group, I suggest the buddy-system for support. How do you feel about being assigned (or choosing your own) buddy that you email and connect with outside of the group once a month? We could buddy up with different people each month so we get to know one another better, or if you really are connected to your buddy over time, stick with the same one. I like this idea, and we can discuss it more at our first meeting. Again, please only join the group if you can come to the first meeting and Tuesday May 13th at 6:30. One of our monthly meeting will always be the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Thanks for joining the group. I am so happy we will have each other to support, uplift, listen and inspire! Any questions or concerns, please email me at amyliagrace@yahoo.com.

Best,
Amylia
